Our adult classes are open to people with and without disabilities. No experience is necessary, and all are welcome.

Students move in a way that feels good to them and everyone makes choices for themselves.

For more experienced dancers, these classes are a chance to study movement improvisation with a diverse group of movers and learners.

Upcoming 30-hour Danceability Intensive

Learn to lead Inclusive Dance-

This 5-day course teaches basic Danceability exercises and theory for immediate application by dance educators, teachers, therapists, and dancers who want to share movement improvisation-inclusive dance in their communities. Participants learn to work with all people simultaneously. Students will receive a certificate of completion and a teaching guide (Danceability handbook) with over 40 exercises and detailed notes from each day’s lessons.

The course emphasizes how to adapt teaching styles to any participant. Foundation exercises introduce basic concepts of movement improvisation for people of all abilities, based on things that all participants can do. Participants will learn how to guide people to be aware of their potential for movement and for non-verbal communication.

Wednesday August 23rd– Sunday August 27th 10am-5:30pm

Horizons Center, 675 Old Portland Road, Brunswick ME
